Book: The Apollos
Current Word Count: 51, 490
Synopsis (I won’t include this every time but seeing as this is the introduction): Two teenagers receive a map and instructions from one of their parents, explaining a world they need to enter, and a task they need to accomplish. The task? Convince that whole world to join an semi-magical organization that helps people all over our world. This books is about the adventures that ensue as they work towards the capital city of this world.
Title explanation: The title refers to the organization they are part of. The reason it’s called the Apollos has to do with the god. Apollo is often associated with music and healing (along with other things) and that is what the organization does. It brings music and healing to places that can’t normally get it all over our world.
What is currently happening?: The kids (Ben and Annah) along with two friends they’ve picked up along the way are stuck in a town because it’s winter. They can’t continue to hike, so they’ve stopped here. But a lot of things are definitely off about this place. They are working to convince just this town to join the organization (called the Apollos) but first they must befriend people in the town which is proving to be a very difficult task.
How’s it going?: I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo, which is definitely helping me. My goal is fairly low, but it’s getting me to write every day and that’s what matters. The book is moving along, but I can’t tell how much the story is. I need some bigger changes to happen, and that is about to happen.
Struggles?: I can’t decide if Ben and Annah should get together. I almost think they definitely should, but it seems quite cliché. Plus my original plan had been to try to keep romance out of this book. So I’m not sure what to do.
Are you doing Camp NaNoWriMo? How is it going? If not, how is there something else you’re working on? Any thoughts about my present struggle? Is there anything more you would like to know?
